So my 2012 Subaru Outback has been stalling here and there after sudden stops. Did a little research today and it looks like I possibly have a bad torque converter. Turns out there is a TSB out for this and enough people complained about it that Subaru will fix it for free. I am glad that I decided to look into it today because they didn’t extend the warranty that long. They bumped it to 10 years or 100k. My car had 117k miles and it said cars that are out of warranty extension are covered until July 31st, 2018. Looks like I will be making an appointment ASAP. Not happy.

Weird that the 2016 model year cars aren’t included in this. The only repair from this episode of our 2016 Impreza stalling a couple months ago was to replace the battery.

My parents 2012 Outback had a bad TC that was replaced under the same service bulletin at ~60k miles.

According to this (which is where I saw about how 2016 MY cars like our Impreza aren’t included in the warranty extension) yes they do.

Maybe no one panic stopped before me. I am not always the gentlest driver. My older sister had a 2011 Outback and her car is doing this too and she had no idea about things warranty until today when I texted her. She is going to get it looked at ASAP. My grandparents may have this problem too. Lol there are FOUR Outbacks in my family total.
